New Album
“Time On Hold”
Now Available Everywhere

Ben Sollee's new album, "Time on Hold," surprises fans with a country sound, featuring two new songs alongside fresh interpretations of his most requested works. While Sollee is known for his distinctive cello playing and diverse musical influences, this album showcases a more relaxed approach. "Time on Hold" draws inspiration from the soul-infused country music of the early seventies, reminiscent of artists like James Taylor and Phoebe Snow. Yet, it remains distinctly contemporary and full of human spirit. Recorded in Fort Collins, CO, during the summer of 2025, the album's sound blends the expansiveness of the big sky with the intimacy of Kentucky streams, performed by an all-star band that sounds remarkably cohesive.

Land

Ben Sollee has teamed up with the string trio Time for Three to score the breathtaking drama Land. The film marks the directorial debut of actress Robin Wright who also stars in the movie, alongside Demián Bichir and Kim Dickens. The movie centers on a cosmopolitan lawyer who is consumed by grief after enduring a personal tragedy and feels her only escape is to disappear from her life and live completely apart from the rest of humanity. Jesse Chatham and Erin Dignam (The Yellow Handkerchief, Submergence) wrote the screenplay. Allyn Stewart (Sully, Madeline), Lora Kennedy, Leah Holzer (A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood) and Peter Saraf (Little Miss Sunshine, The Farewell) are producing the project. Sollee has previously scored several movies, including the 2013 documentary Maidentrip and the 2017 drama Beauty Mark. Land was released in theaters on February 12, 2021 by Focus Features.
