Hey Friends and Fans,

I want to start off with a big THANK YOU! Over the years since my first solo release, Learning to Bend, you’ve been so supportive. Whether I was pedaling my way on a music tour by bicycle or raising awareness about the plight of mountain top removal strip mining in Appalachia, you have been there. I’m so grateful. I’m writing to you today to ask you to help continue the story.

I’m heading in to the studio to record my 3rd, full-length record Half-Made Man. To fund this project I have teamed up with the nice folks over at PledgeMusic and YOU. The idea of crowd-sourced funding is not entirely new, but PledgeMusic has a unique experience to offer. Here’s how it works...

When you go to www.pledgemusic.com/bensollee you can view the project and all the “exclusives” we have offered as incentives. If you find something you desire, like a pre-order of the new record or a signed, letterpress broadside of the title track, you can pledge for that exclusive. Some exclusives are limited and others are not. As you tell your friends and get them involved, we will get closer and closer to our set goal. If we make it there, everyone’s exclusives will be fulfilled and we’ll be funded. If we don’t, no one will be charged and will try again some time. However, I know this can be accomplished with your support!

As an added incentive, we’ve teamed up with a non-profit partner, Oxfam America, for this campaign. Any money we raise over the goal, they will get %10. Pretty sweet right! Especially considering they do amazing work all over the world.
